Manager Description:

Manager responsibilities include ensuring efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintaining high production, quality, and customer-service standards.  We’re looking for a self-starter who is familiar with restaurant operations and has a good understanding of what delivers a positive dining experience for our guests.

Manager Skills:

  • Contributes to a friendly, welcoming restaurant environment.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and leads by example.
  • Performs a variety of tasks including scheduling, cashiering, expediting food, greeting and seating customers, and managing front of house employees.  No task is too small, including taking out the trash.
  • Works under the supervision of the General Manager but relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals and solve problems.
  • Responds to guest comments and criticisms in a positive and constructive manner and works continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoots issues and finds suitable solutions. Creativity is required and a certain degree of latitude is given.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume and sets a positive example for the staff.
  • Understands team dynamics and facilitates teamwork amongst the staff. 
  • Skilled at developing employees by coaching, counseling, and building strong work habits.  Provides clear and timely performance feedback.
  • Able to interact professionally with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Monitors compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Accurately handles money and makes change.
  • Fills in for absent employees when coverage is not found.

Manager Requirements:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of restaurant management experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours that include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Likely 5-day workweek — 50-55 hours per week
  • Computer competency skills
  • Food Manager Certification preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stretch for duration of shift
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull approximately 50 lbs

Server Description:

Server responsibilities include providing friendly, responsive service that creates a positive dining experience for all guests, as well as maintaining production, quality, and customer-service standards. We’re looking for a self-starter who isfamiliar with restaurant operations and promotes, works, and acts in a manner consistent with the Blue Bonnet Café mission.

Server Skills:

  • Contributes to a friendly, welcoming restaurant environment.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills.
  • Performs a variety of tasks including greeting customers, presenting menus and daily specials, answering questions about menu items, writing guests’ food orders on guest checks, memorizing orders, delivering food and drinks, preparing checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales tax, and helping clean tables or counters as guests finish dishes.
  • No task is too small – rolling silverware, setting up stations, and stocking service areas are all expected.  
  • Works under the supervision of the General Manager but relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals and solve problems.
  • Responds to guest comments and criticisms in a positive and constructive manner and promptly corrects any problems.
  • Works continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume and sets a positive example for others.
  • Understands team dynamics and facilitates teamwork. 
  • Able to interact professionally with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Complies with safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Accurately handles money.
  • Fills in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Line Cook Description:

Line cook responsibilities include responsive food preparation that creates a positive dining experience for all guests, as well as maintaining production, quality, and customer-service standards.  We’re looking for a good listener who manages time well and is able to multi-task.

Line Cook Skills:
  • Contributes to a positive and professional restaurant environment.
  • Possesses knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of tasks including setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies, preparing food for service, maintaining sufficient levels of food on the line, cooking menu items, keeping clean stations, taking care of leftover food, and notifying managers of inventory needs. No task is too small, including taking out the trash.
  • Ensures that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
  • Cooperates and works well with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Works under the supervision of the General Manager but relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals and solve problems.
  • Responds to comments and criticisms in a positive and constructive manner and promptly corrects any problems.
  • Works continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume and sets a positive example for others.
  • Able to interact professionally with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Complies with food safety, sanitary, and hygiene regulations.
  • Fills in for fellow employees where needed to ensure service standards and efficient operations.

 Cashier Description:

Cashier responsibilities include processing all cash transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures.  A successful cashier will play a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction by greeting customers when entering or leaving our establishment, taking to go orders via phone, and accurately handling money and making change. Our cashiers work under immediate supervision of the manager on duty.

Cashier Skills:

  • Contributes to a friendly, welcoming restaurant environment.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Accurately and efficiently handles cash and makes change.
  • Performs a variety of tasks including greeting customers at the register, processing payment transactions, taking to go orders via phone, expediting to go orders, redeeming coupons, issuing receipts and refunds, maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area, checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low.
  • Responds to guest comments and criticisms in a positive and constructive manner and works continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume and sets a positive example for staff.
  • Understands team dynamics and facilitates teamwork amongst the staff. 
  • Skilled in solving over-the-counter inquiries and problems.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.

Cashier Requirements:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • Cashier experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours that include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Likely 5-day workweek — 35-40 hours per week
  • Food Certification preferred
